    So the Plugin needs to access something on your personal site in order to work, correct?

    (to put it another way, if your site/server was not working, would the plugin work?)

    Hallo,

    das Plugin ist super. Leider habe ich ein Problem damit. Ich möchte gern mehrere Ziele in einer Karte angeben, wenn ich nach Deinen Vorgaben zwei Ziele eingebe, dann bekomme ich eine Fehlermeldung:

    SMART MAP: WRONG FORMAT, maybe you forget something, please controle it

    Supercooles PlugIn.

    Habe folgendes Problem. Nutze WP 2.7, habe API-Key eben bei Google geholt. Soweit alles klar. Wenn ich den Beispielslink einkopiere “[googleMap]520|200|15|0|0|Wall Street, New York|The New York Stock Exchange.[/googleMap]“, das Ganze als Draft speichere und mir anschauen will (preview), so bekomme ich folgenden Fehler bei der Anzeige:

    Warning: file_get_contents(): URL file-access is disabled in the server configuration in /home/www/web121/html/web/wp-content/plugins/smart-map.php on line 28

    Warning: file_get_contents(https://www.phpwelt.net/geoblog/poi3.php?c=0&t=0&z=15&w=520&h=200&description=The+New+York+Stock+Exchange.&adresse=Wall+Street%2C+New+York&justforstat=www.oha.eu): failed to open stream: no suitable wrapper could be found in /home/www/web121/html/web/wp-content/plugins/smart-map.php on line 28

    Hi Erik,

    Hi, What a great plug-in! Very useful.
    In the UK, Google Maps works well with the PostCode system but SmartMap gives different location pin positions.
    Using Google Maps http://maps.google.co.uk/ for this postCode BN13 3HD works fine and shows pin in correct location.
    Using SmartMap for BN13 3HD puts pin in the wrong location.
    I’m using: [googleMap]500|300|15|1|1|BN13 3HD|Description[/googleMap]
    Is there any way this can be corrected or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

    Hi, looks like an excellent plugin that will be easy to use.

    I have tried several Google Maps plugins to see which will work best for my users with my test install on Windows Vista using XAMPP and WordPress 2.7. These work OK and I can see Google Maps so I know my API key is valid.

    But Smart Map returns an error saying the API key is for the wrong website. My address is .dyndns.org:8080 so I think it may be related to this. Can you help? Thanks.

    Smart Map is a serious contender for my final selection as the map plug-in for Pax Nortona. You have been very helpful. I just need to know if I can use Latitude and Longitude to define a point? And, if so, how would I enter that?

    This is the plugin I have been looking for for a long time! It is perfect for what I need but I an not make it work.

    Sorry, there has been a page error

    The server could not complete your request.

    * The script or file you are trying to call may be incorrectly written.
    * The host may be having a problem currently.
    * If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.
    * Open the cromecreations.co.uk home page, and then look for links to the information you want.
    * Click Here to try another link.

    That is the message displayed instead of the page when I try and load it. Any ideas?

    Many thanks.

    Hallo Erik,
Nutze ebenfalls PHP4.

    About many marks, it work but with errors, you should change your code, variable $iiiddd works wrong.

    And you have wrong logic with cache, because it depend from only one mark (town)! (last in list)

    Hi, your plugins is awesome…
    I installed 0.9 version and get an error on show-smartmap.php file.

    There are two lines in that file:
    require_once($_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"].’wp-config.php’);
    require_once($_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"].’wp-includes/functions.php’);

    that has missing slash (/). Should be:

    require_once($_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"].’/wp-config.php’);
    require_once($_SERVER["DOCUMENT_ROOT"].’/wp-includes/functions.php’);

    That fixed it (at least for me).
    Thanks!

    Erik-
    Please edit (if you can) my last post- I made comments about having a carriage return between the locations to get multiple points to show on the map. I was incorrect! The best method is a space because the carriage returns push the rendered map down the page.
    My wife and I reviewed your code after seeing all of the lines inserted in the source… finally realizing that I did this. (dummen Kopf, ja?)
    Anyhow- thanks again for your good work…

    I’m not sure where to enter the API key. The only places that seem to make sense are (1) within code installed on the page that displays the map, (2) inside the smart map folder, (3) within the head section of the header php. If (1), then what is the format, if (2) what type of document should be created, if (3) then should it be entered within a script?

    vielen Dank!

    Меня всегда раздражали люди – которые считают, что блог и WordPress это одно и то же. Плюсы WP – это огромное количество модулей и скинов, а также большое количество пользователей, что подразумевает под собой быстрый поиск ответов на уже задававшиеся кем-то вопросы. На этом его преимущества и заканчиваются.

    Hi Erik,

    I am using your plugin on my first WordPress site.
    On my development environment everything worked OK. After moving the site to it’s final domain, I keep getting errors about a wrong Google API key.

    “For this website another Google Maps-API key is requiered. You can create a new key on …”

    I have created a new key fot the site (several times, even with different google accounts).
    No luck.

    After that I have tried to remove Smart MAp and all of its entries in the database, no luck again.

    Could you help me out here?
    It seems it has happened before, so maybe you know the answer.

    schönes plugin. mir sind aber 2 dinge aufgefallen. zum einen hatte ich immer problem, wenn ich mehr als 10 points in meine seite per shortcode einfügen wollte. die karte wurde dann nicht mehr gerendert. hab herausgefunden, dass es an daran liegt, dass ich den punkten die adresse als string übergebe und nicht als koordinaten und es dann durch das geocoding zu zu vielen api aufrufen per sekunde kommt (error 620). hab dafür jetzt ein sleep(1) als workaround in die function addAddress eingebaut. zum anderen, muss ich auch immer wenn ich einen neuen punkt in meine seite einfüge, in den smartmap plugin einstellungen (wo der apikey steht) noch mal auf absenden klicken, damit die map die content änderung der seite überhaupt mit bekommt. warum ???
